1. Five-Card Game Cheat Sheet

  • Straight – Five cards in sequence, but with not similar suits (2♣ 3♦ 4♥ 5♥ 6♠)
  • Three of a kind – Three cards with the same value (A♦ A♥ A♠ X X)
  • Two Pair – A pair with another different pair (A♠ A♥ 6♣ 6♠ X)
  • Pair (or Two of a Kind) – Two cards with the same value (J♣ J♠ X X X)
  • High Card – A hand without other value than that of its highest card (K♣ J♠ 2♣ 8♥ 6♠)

2. Lowball Poker Cheat Sheet

In some round games, the highest hand doesn’t always win the pot. It is because there is a category of PvP poker variants called “lowball’ games. These games included:

  • Ace-to-Five lowball
  • Deuce-to-Seven lowball

In these games, the lowest-ranked hands win the pot. Flushes and straights don’t exist in some lowball games, but in others. In addition, Aces are commonly low in lowball poker games.

For instance, in Deuce-to-Seven lowball (2 to 7), the best hand is 7 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2. From here, the next best hand is an 8 low, which would be 8 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2. It will continue like this down ranking.

3. Split-Pot Lowball Cheat Sheet

Linked to lowball games are split-pot poker cheat sheet games. As the name suggests, these are split the pot between the best (highest) and the worst (lowest) poker hands. The main split-pot variants such as:

  • Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or better
  • Crazy Pineapple Hi-Lo
  • Low Chicago
  • Five Card Draw Ho-Lo

The main objective of these games is to have either:

  • The best-ranked hand as per traditional or 5-card rankings
  • The best lowball hand

Half of the pot goes through the high hand and half to the low hand. If a player has a hand that wins the high and low portion of the pot, it is called “scooping”.
